Meet Rita, Managing Director

From a young age, my fascination with the ocean has been a driving force in my life, shaping my personal and professional journey. With a PhD in Marine, Earth, and Environmental Science, I have dedicated my career to understanding and preserving our marine ecosystems.

 

As a marine biologist and an avid scuba diver, I have had the privilege of exploring the depths of our oceans, witnessing both their breathtaking beauty and the critical threats they face. This intimate connection with the underwater world has fueled my passion for ocean conservation and underscored the urgent need to protect these vital ecosystems.

My professional career has been a tapestry of diverse experiences within the realm of ocean conservation and research. From conducting comprehensive marine and coastal biodiversity studies to assessing and managing wetlands, to researching marine mollusks with pharmacoIogical potential, I have worked on the frontlines of environmental preservation. These experiences have given me a holistic understanding of the complex interplay between marine ecosystems and human activities. They have also reinforced my belief that effective conservation requires a multidisciplinary approach, combining scientific research with practical management strategies.

This realization inspired me to establish my consultancy company, a platform where my expertise and passion converge to create impactful Nature-based Solutions for marine conservation challenges.

 

Through our work, we also hope to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the ocean's intrinsic value and the imperative to protect it.
